APT Healthcare: Setting the Standard for Excellence in Physical Therapy
At APT Healthcare, we are dedicated to providing state-of-the-art physical therapy services across over 70 locations in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and North Carolina. Our experienced physical therapists and certified hand therapists work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary clinical team to design personalized treatment plans, ensuring each patient achieves their unique health goals.
Physical Therapy
APT Healthcare's Physical Therapy Program offers a comprehensive array of treatment methods for injuries, conditions, and illnesses. Our therapists not only focus on treating your current condition and restoring pain-free function but also emphasize preventing future injuries through patient education. Utilizing hands-on manual therapy in conjunction with tailored exercises, such as stretching, strengthening, endurance training, balance exercises, and aerobics, our goal is to enhance flexibility, reduce joint stress, strengthen muscles, and improve joint mobility. Our therapists are dedicated to helping patients achieve their objectives of returning to everyday activities at home, work, and leisure while also aiming to prevent future injuries.
Orthopedic Rehabilitation
APT Healthcare's team specializes in treating a wide range of orthopedic issues, including soft tissue injuries or diseases, post-surgical cases such as fractures, total hip/knee replacements, tendon or ligament repairs, and other orthopedic surgeries. Our focus is on helping patients regain strength, mobility, and endurance, enabling them to return home and resume their regular routines promptly.
Neurological Rehabilitation
APT offers a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to neurological rehabilitation. Our services include neuromuscular re-education, coordination training, vestibular therapy, desensitization, muscle and sensory re-education, tailored to the specific needs of each patient by our highly skilled professionals.
Hand Therapy/ Certified Hand Therapists
APT's highly skilled hand therapists specialize in treating a variety of hand and upper extremity pathologies, from acute to chronic conditions. Each treatment is carefully crafted based on the physician's diagnosis and the patient's individual needs, covering conditions like arthritis, fractures, tendon injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, and more. Services include wound management, scar management, pain control, splint fabrication, and dexterity training.
Vestibular Rehabilitation
APT's vestibular rehabilitation program is designed to help people suffering from dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, and other inner ear disorders. Vestibular rehabilitation is a conservative, non-invasive, and drug-free option for combating dizziness and balance difficulties. A clinician will develop an individualized treatment plan that includes exercises to strengthen posture, gait, and components of the balance system (eyes, ears, and legs). A home exercise program may be designed specifically for the patient's tolerance, physical condition, and diagnosis. Approximately 90 percent of patients show levels of improvement from vestibular rehabilitation.
Women's Health Programs
APT Healthcare believes in caring for the person as a whole, both physically and emotionally. Our Women's Health Program was created to address needs specific to women - on a behavioral, therapeutic, and holistic level. Our specialized clinical team is specifically trained to effectively treat a variety of women's health issues including lymphedema, incontinence, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, and other conditions. Individualized treatment plans are created to meet each patient's specialized needs and unique circumstances.
Industrial Rehabilitation
APT's Industrial Rehabilitation Services offer a structured and goal-oriented program designed to assess work capacities, regain functional skills, and facilitate return to work after injuries, including Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) and Work Hardening/Conditioning.
Functional Capacity Evaluations
APT conducts a three to five-hour evaluation to assess an individual's ability to perform tasks relevant to their work environment safely, evaluating strength, flexibility, and overall capacity such as lifting, carrying, kneeling, squatting, etc. This assessment guides our industrial rehabilitation team in developing a personalized treatment plan to ensure a safe return to work.
Work Hardening Program
APT's Work Hardening uses a target to help the injured worker safely return to work by enhancing physical tolerance, flexibility, mobility, strength, and promoting safer work techniques.
Chiropractic Care
APT’s holistic Chiropractic Care focuses on pain reduction, improving range of motion, and enhancing the body’s ability to heal itself. A chiropractor uses gentle pressure to correct subluxations to restore alignment in the spine, restore balance in the nervous system, and restore symmetry in the body. Chiropractic Care is a powerful treatment synergy alongside traditional rehab services to promote recovery, restore function, and promote overall health.
Aquatic Therapy
APT’s Aquatic Therapy Program is a form of physical therapy that utilizes a warm water environment to enhance rehabilitation through stretching, strengthening exercises, and functional movements without the full weight-bearing impact. The buoyancy and hydrostatic pressure of water aid in reducing swelling and pain, accelerating healing for various injuries.
